Dear student,

It is with great pleasure that the Director of the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “G. Braga” di Teramo welcomes you for a period of study at our Institute.

If you are planning to spend a period of time abroad for studying or training, the ISSM “G. Braga”  in Teramo can offer you a good opportunity to develop your talent and skills.

The ISSSMC “G. Braga” in Teramo (Erasmus code: IT TERAMO 02) received the ECHE (269949-EPP-1-2015-1-IT-EPPKA3-ECHE)  in December 2014 for the first time.

Our small Institution is one of the oldest Music Institutions in Italy: it was founded in 1895.

Our Higher Education Studies consist of:
Bachelor’s Degree - Accordion, Bassoon, Cello, Clarinet, Composition, Conducting, Double Bass, Electronic Music, Flute, Guitar, Harp, Harpsichord and Historical Keyboards, Horn, Jazz (Percussion Instruments, Vocal Performance, Guitar, Electric Bass, Double Bass, Piano, Saxophone), Mandolin, Oboe, Percussion Instruments, Piano, Recorder, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, Viola, Violin, Vocal Performance;
Master’s Degree - Audio technician and lights for the show, Cello, Chamber Music, Clarinet, Flute, Guitar, Oboe, Piano, Piano Accompaniment, Recorder, Saxophone, Trombone, Viola, Violin, Vocal Performance.
** courses awaiting authorisation from the Ministry

We have a Chamber Orchestra (about 50 elements), strings and wind ensembles and we often form a larger Orchestra for special events.

We believe that the excellence and uniqueness of our three-year first degree in “Recorder and Ancient Reeds Instruments: Crumhorn, Dulcian and Bombard” or our singing courses, could constitute a further appeal for you to participate in some exchange program’s with our Institution.

The city of Teramo (attached you will find a map) is in the centre of Italy, in the region of Abruzzo and it’s only 35 km from the Gran Sasso mountain (a beautiful national park where it’s possible also to ski while looking at the sea from a distance), 25 km from the Adriatic Sea (with sand beaches, good fish restaurants) – like Giulianova, where the Braga Institution has also a branch school – and about 2 hours from Rome.

Teramo is an ancient city where Roman archaeological traces can not only be found in Museums.

We are confident that we will be able to start a profitable cooperation for your artistic, cultural and professional growth.
